NEWGEN PEACEBUILDERS

Global

NewGen Peacebuilders℠ is a global, award-winning peace education, training and mentoring program that equips people to Build Peace. Repeat the Peace.℠ in their communities, countries and the world.

In 2019, a successful NewGen Peacebuilders education, training, and mentoring pilot project was conducted in South Sudan with approximately 60 high school and university students and mentors. During this accelerated and successful pilot training, participants identified four areas of conflict that concern young people in South Sudan: 1) ethnic/tribal conflict; 2) gender inequality; 3) threats of political violence against young people practicing democratic "voicing"; 4) educational inequality across geographic and tribal lines; and political polarization. NewGen Peacebuilders (NGP) was awarded Midland Rotary Club funding and St. John’s Episcopal Church funding to support secondary school and university student participation in the second NGP program in South Sudan. The program is titled NewGen Peacebuilders – South Sudan 2023. Six secondary schools and universities that participated in the program. This constitutes the Final Report for the project.
