The Building Futures was initiated to fund and build the Woza Moya Orphan and Vulnerable Children’s Play Therapy Center in South Africa.

Mothering Across Continents officially becomes a US 501c3 nonprofit organization.

First pilot project launched in South Africa. The Caring Schools Initiative focused on providing daily meals to three high schools.

The Raising South Sudan project launches in South Sudan serving 800 students attending the Nyarweng and Gumriak primary schools.

The Mentoring Mwiko project begins in Rwanda with teacher training and support. After improvements in national exam scores, a merit-based scholarship fund for secondary school was created.

The High Hopes Haiti project provides leadership development and vocational training for high school girls and young women.

The Walk for Wisdom global education and service initiative in the US is created by high school students in the NewGen Peacebuilders program. Funds raised support education and literacy in South Sudan.

Mothering Across Continents and the Raising South Sudan project nominated for the UNESCO Prize for Girls and Women's Education.

Pivot Academy begins in rural Rwanda with the aim of empowering youth, especially young girls, in STEM subjects.

Pivot Academy professional development for 40 high school teachers, focusing on technology-based STEM education with training on integrating tablets into the curriculum.

The “Empowered Flowers” team from our NewGen Peacebuilders program designs and implements a peace project to distribute 400 menstrual pads to an all-girls school in Uganda.

Four of the first girls to graduate from Nyarweng and Gumriak primary schools receive Raising South Sudan donor-supported scholarships to attend all-girls Loreto Secondary School.

The first teacher from Ruweng State, South Sudan, to graduate from the Yambio Teacher Training College returns to the Nyarweng and Gumriak primary schools as an education coordinator and headmaster.

In partnership with North Carolina State University, Pivot Academy begins for primary schools in northern Rwanda.

First-ever monthly distribution of menstrual hygiene pads to all girls at Mwiko Primary School, northern Rwanda.

The Raising South Sudan project schools – Nyarweng and Gumriak – renovated, and roofs repaired.

Following a pilot in 2019, a second NewGen Peacebuilders South Sudan program is held with high school and university students, including graduates of Raising South Sudan project schools.
